Travel Hair Routine: How to Look Sharp Anywhere in the World
Travelling shouldn't mean compromising on how you look. Whether you're heading to a business trip, a weekend away or a longer adventure, your hair routine doesn't have to suffer just because you're not at home. Here's how to keep your hair looking sharp on the road - without overpacking or falling foul of airport security.
The 100ml Rule (and Why It Matters)
If you're flying carry-on only, liquids need to be 100ml or under to clear security. Most full-size hair products don't make the cut - which means either checking a bag, decanting into tiny containers, or just going without. None of those are great options.
That's why we built travel-size versions of our most popular products, all under 100ml and ready to go straight into your liquids bag.
Your Travel Hair Kit
You don't need to bring everything. A simple two or three-product routine covers most styles and hair types:
- Mariner's Salt Spray 50ml - Hold Factor 4. Builds natural texture and a matte base. Works on damp or dry hair, takes seconds to apply.
- Regent Curl Cream 50ml - Hold Factor 2. For curly or wavy hair. Smooth definition with an invisible finish — no crunch, no frizz.
- Foundry Clay 40g - Hold Factor 6. Strong matte hold for structured styles. A little goes a long way.
All three are available together in the Complete Travel Kit - everything you need, nothing you don't.
The 3-Minute Travel Hair Routine
When you're travelling, you want something that works fast and holds all day. Here's a simple routine that does both:
- Shower and towel dry - hair should be damp, not soaking.
- Spray Mariner's Salt Spray through your hair and scrunch or rough dry with your hands. This builds the base texture.
- Work a small amount of Foundry Clay through to shape and set. Start with less than you think you need - you can always add more.
- Air dry or use the hotel hairdryer on a low setting to lock everything in.
That's it. Natural, clean hold that lasts all day - no matter what the day throws at you.
Tips for Travelling with Hair Products
- Pack smart: Put your liquids bag at the top of your carry-on so it's easy to pull out at security.
- Less is more: Travel-size products are more concentrated than you think. Use half the amount you normally would to start.
- Skip the hotel products: Most hotel shampoos and conditioners strip your hair. Bring your own if you can, or at least bring your styling products.
- Humidity happens: In humid climates, go lighter on product. Salt spray alone is often enough — the air does the rest.
